This Pistol is somewhat unusual, as on would expect it to be the French Model of 1822 Flintlock pistol that was later converted to the percussion system after 1842. It is marked faintly on the lock Mre. Imp. de St. Etienne, however while it appears to have been made in the 1822 fashion, it was made directly as a percussion pistol and not originally in flintlock. The lock plate does not have the expected remnants of
